Step 1
Place the tofu block on a tray. Pat it with paper towels. And place a heavy item on top (a plate or a small tray) for 15 minutes to drain all the excess moisture.

Combine the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan. When the mixture simmers, take it off the heat and place a lid on top.

Heat the oil in a skillet at 340°F.

Cut the tofu into 4 equal pieces. Then, coat them with potato starch. Remember to dust off the excess flour to a crunchy cover.

Place these pieces in your skillet. You can fry them in batches if you don’t have enough space. Deep-fry them until crispy.
Step 6
Move the fried tofu to a wire rack or a paper towel-lined plate to drain the grease.
Step 7
Afterward, place each piece in a bowl and pour the sauce in. Serve with your favorite garnishes!
