Step 1
Pour 1-1/2 cups of water into a medium saucepan. Place it over high heat to bring the water to a boil.
Step 2
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium high.
Step 3
Stir in the white rice and salt and return to a boil.
Step 4
Reduce heat to low so it will simmer. Cover and cook for about 16 to 18 minutes until rice is tender and has absorbed all the water.
Step 5
After it has finished cooking, remove the pan from the heat and let sit, covered, for about 10 minutes. Then fluff with a fork and serve.
