Since recipe has nuts in it, why no crunchy peanut butter, which also has nuts?

Honestly this is too much like candy for me I like my old go to recipe for quick fudge of one can any type of frosting and three quarters of a cup of peanut butter. Or you can use a bag of chips in one container of frosting. Makes really quick really good fudge thanks for the recipe

I still like my mom's pb fudge better, but for an extremely fast and easy recipe, this earned 5 stars. I made this for a Church potluck and received rave reviews. I thought this turned out more "candy like" instead of a true fudge consistency, but it was very good. I just used vanilla almond bark which I melted in the microwave.  I added regular peanuts. This kept well in the fridge a few days before I served it. I'll use this recipe again when I need something quick and easy but still impressive.

I have made this for years, but can no longer find "white" candy coating, only vanilla.  The vanilla just didn't seem the same, or was it just my imagination?  Are white and vanilla the same?

Heat coating in a double boiler if you tend to scorch or don't want to stir continuously.

I do a similar recipe that swirls chocolate into the peanut butter to make a bark type candy. For those who ask what candy coating is, it's the small disks you buy to make candy from. Wilton makes "Candy Melts", and there are similar brands out there. They are easy to melt and use - much easier than marshmallow creme, in my opinion.

I agree with the reviewer that said too, too sweet with the white chocolate.  I tried subbing dark chocolate and adding extra peanut butter.  Fudge disappeared quickly but I can't really comment on the quality.  I'm no longer of fan of any fudge since my mother passed and a family member lost a number of her recipes-including her fudge recipe :(

At first I wasn't sold on making this recipe.  Seemed too easy and wasn't sure how it would turn out.  I had to use the chocolate almond bark because I didn't have white and I added a cup of party peanuts.  My kids and husband thinks it taste like a Hershey's Mr. Goodbar.   It was a huge hit with my family!

Yes, white candy coating is also called Almond Bark.  Easy to find during the holidays.  The rest of the year you can find Wilton brand little white chocolate disks that you melt at stores that carry confection supplies like Michaels or Party City. Instead of walnuts I use either unsalted dry roasted peanuts or unsalted cocktail peanuts. This is the simplest fudge you will ever make.  Completely no-fail and everyone loves it.  If you have small children, you could omit the nuts altogether.
