Step 1

Mix all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set it aside for later use.

Step 2

Pour the cooking oil into a deep-sided pan and heat it over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot enough (350­°F), deep-fry your tofu cubes (Feel free to cook them in batches).

Step 3

When the tofu turns golden brown, transfer them to a paper towel-covered plate.

Step 4

Saute garlic and onion with melted butter at medium heat until soft and fragrant.

Step 5

Then, stir in bell peppers until they also soften.

Step 6

Next, add the prepared sauce and the remaining chili peppers. Let the mixture simmer for 2 minutes.

Step 7

When the sauce has thickened, toss in the tofu cubes. Stir them gently until well coated. Then, serve while they’re still sizzling!
