Step 1
Heat oil in a large deep frypan over medium heat; cook onion, stirring, for 5 minutes or until golden. Increase the heat to high, stir in garlic and beef mince, cook, stirring for 10 minutes or until browned. Add herbs, diced tomatoes and puree; cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Add lentils and bring to the boil; cook, covered, for 10 minutes or until sauce thickens. Season to taste.
Step 2
Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water until al dente; drain.
Step 3
Divide spaghetti and some of the beef mixture among serving bowls. Serve topped with parmesan and extra basil leaves.
