Step 1
Remove the ham from the fridge and allow to come up to room temperature, about 2 hours before cooking.
Step 2
Make the Glaze: In a small saucepan or microwave safe bowl, combine the brown sugar & honey glaze ingredients (brown sugar, honey, orange juice, optional mustard or apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, clove, and black pepper). Heat (can be done on the stovetop or in the microwave) and whisk until brown sugar is dissolved and glaze is well combined. Set aside.
Step 3
If the ham has a netting, remove it from the ham. If ham is not pre-sliced, score the ham with shallow 1/2-inch criss-cross cuts.
Step 4
For Basket Style Air Fryers: Line the air fryer basket with 2 pieces of long, overlapping foil sheets (see step-by step photos on website write up above). Lay the ham on top of the foil and then brush with some of the glaze to coat the ham. Close the foil over the ham and wrap tightly.
Step 5
For Oven Style Air Fryers: Place the ham in an 8”x8” baking pan which fits in your air fryer (you may need to trim the edges of the ham to fit your pan and air fryer size). Brush with some of the glaze and close foil over the ham, wrapping tightly.
Step 6
Air Fry at 340°F/170°C for 25 minutes. Open the foil and brush the ham with more glaze (make sure to reserve some glaze for finishing & serving). Close the foil tightly, and Air Fry again at 340°/170°C for 25 minutes.
Step 7
After air frying for the 50 minutes, open up the foil again and now push the foil down around the edges of the ham if using the basket-style air fryer method. Create a boat with the foil that holds the juices and keeps the ham from drying out. If using the Oven Style Air Fryer method, just remove the foil from the 8"x8" pan.
Step 8
Brush with a little more glaze and increase heat to Air Fry at 360°F/180°C for about 5 minutes, or until caramelized to your liking.
Step 9
Let ham rest for 5 minutes before serving.Optional serving: Combine the juices from the air fryer basket and the remaining glaze in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes or until thickened. Brush the glaze onto the ham when serving or serve in a bowl.
