Step 1
Preheat oven to 375˚F. Cream butter and sugars together. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla. Sift in flour 1 cup at a time and mix until combined.
Step 2
Roll cookie dough into 1”-1 1/2” balls. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a flat mug or cup.
Step 3
Whip egg white. Dip fork into egg white. Make a cross hatch pattern with the back of the fork. Press a single walnut on top of each cookie.
Step 4
Bake for 10-12 minutes and allow to cool before serving.
