Ingredients: 1 tablespoon garlic powder; 1 ½ teaspoons dried basil; 1 ½ teaspoons dried parsley; 1 ¼ teaspoons dried savory; 1 ¼ teaspoons ground thyme; 1 teaspoon ground mace; 1 teaspoon onion powder; 1 teaspoon ground black pepper; 1 teaspoon dried sage; ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

I got this recipe from my mother-in-law, Helen. I make it up in big batches. It's scrumptious on most everything, I use it often, and I make it for teacher gifts also.

All-Purpose No-Salt Seasoning Mix

Mix garlic powder, basil, parsley, savory, thyme, mace, onion powder, black pepper, sage, and cayenne pepper in a bowl; store in a sealed jar.


Used it as a rub for chicken and it was pretty tasty

I didn't have mace, savory, or parsley on hand. But I made this with the remaining ingredients. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, and upped the cayenne pepper to 1/2 teaspoon. It turned out great. I'd like to try this again with the ingredients I missed the first go around.

Excellent for Ideal Protein dieters and healthy for anyone and everyone.  Used it tonight on (pounded thin) chicken breasts.  Brushed 1/2 t. olive oil per side of each piece of meat, sprinkled seasoning mix on each side, baked at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, turning once midway.  Great flavor!  Followed recipe exactly and everyone liked it.

Used this seasoning on chicken thighs and placed the seasoned chicken it the refrigerator overnight. Did the chicken on the grill and it was amazing .

I added salt to this because I like salt, but the other ingredients were very tasty. I use 2 tsp or so to a couple tbs of olive oil and tossed cauliflower in it before roasting. I like very full flavor, so next time I will add more onion and garlic powder and maybe more cayenne and mace.

It turned out absolutely wonderful. I just doubled up on the onion powder. 
I made it minus a few items: Garlic, Mace, Savory.
Partner can not have garlic in anything; I am learning how to cook anew! Couldn't find the other two. Maybe at a boutique, or specialty spice place, none near me.

Very good. One suggestion. When I made it, the various spices had different densities (parsley flakes to sage) so it was hard to get them to mix. I put them all in my small food processor for a couple of seconds and it worked well.
