Cream the sugar with the butter.

Mix in the eggs, bananas, flour, pecans, baking soda and the salt.

Pour into the prepared pan. Place the loaf pan in a cold oven.

Set the oven control to 300 degrees F.

Bake the banana bread for 1 1/2 hours or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 7
Cool the bread for 5 minutes on a wire rack.
Step 8
Remove bread from the pan and cool completely, right side up.
