Step 1
Preheat oven to 350˚ F and butter a 9×13 inch pan.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, cream together shortening and sugar. Add 2 well beaten eggs and vanilla.
Step 3
In a seaparate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the creamed mixture along with the sour cream.
Step 4
Fold in the chopped apples and walnuts. Spread in a greased 9×13 pan.
Step 5
In a small bowl, cut in butter to the cinnamon and brown sugar. Sprinkle over the batter in the 9×13 inch pan. Bake at 350˚F for 35-40 or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
