Step 1

In a large bowl, add the flour, 2/3 cup of the sugar, the baking powder, and the salt and stir to combine.

Step 2

Add 1/2 cup of the cold butter to the flour mixture and cut it in until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 3

Add the milk to the crumb mixture and stir until just moistened.

Step 4

Grease the bottom and the sides of a 4-5-quart slow cooker.

Step 5

Spoon the batter into the bottom of the slow cooker and spread it out evenly.

Step 6

Place the diced apples evenly over the batter.

Step 7

In a medium-size bowl, add the orange juice, the honey, the remaining melted butter, the remaining sugar, and the cinnamon and whisk to combine.

Step 8

Pour the sauce mixture over the apples.

Step 9

Place a clean kitchen towel over the opening of the slow cooker, which will keep condensation from the lid from going into the slow cooker.

Step 10

Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high until the apples are tender, about 2-3 hours.

Step 11

Serve warm.
