Step 1
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt a tablespoon of oil in the pan.
Step 2
Add ground turkey, diced onion and minced garlic. Break up ground meat with a spoon.
Step 3
Cook until the onions are translucent and turkey is tender; about 7-10 minutes. Drain any extra grease.
Step 4
Cool meat completely, then portion into freezer bags. I usually will portion 2 1/4 cups of meat per bag, which equals about a pound. Be sure to label with a date - frozen cooked ground turkey will last about 3-4 days in the fridge and up to 4 months in the freezer.
