When I was working on the local election board in the '50s, one of my co-workers gave me this beef noodle casserole recipe, and it has been a family favorite ever since. It's quick to make for unexpected company or easily doubled for a potluck.

This recipe is not a keeper.  The worcestershire sauce and tomato soup seriously overpower the rest of the ingredients.  I doubt we will even eat the leftovers.

When my older son left home to live on his own, this was one of the recipes he requested that I copy for his own recipe file.  Recently my younger son had me e-mail him a copy, too.

I didn't have everything on hand, so here's my substitutions:1lb ground beef, seasoned with pepper, salt, onion powder, cooked and drained.In butter, I sauteed celery & 1 can mushrooms, with 2T minced onion, 1 clove minced garlicWhen celery is softened, Stir in 1 Can diced tomatoes, 1 can tomato paste, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, & Worseshire.Stir in beef. Mix in egg noodles, and bake same way.It was great, I'm sorry if changes offend.  I just am low on groceries today!  Thank you!!

This was really good, my whole family liked this one.  We were searching for something a little different to get us out of our dinner rut and this was it!

I MADE A FEW CHANGES, AND WE LOVE IT. FIRST OFF, I SEASON MY BEEF, SALT PEPPER AND GARLIC, THAT GAVE IT MUCH MORE FLAVOR. SOMETIMES I ADD MUSHROOMS, SOMETIMES MOTZERELLA CHEESE.IT'S A GOOD RECIPE ANY WAY YOU FIX IT. SELOGY

Very good!! Will definitely make again, my husband loved it! He doesn't like green peppers or anything with mushrooms so I used one red bell pepper instead of the green, and cream of celery instead of cream of mushroom. Also, seasoned the beef with salt, pepper, and some garlic powder.

great casserole, my daughter just loves it, and so do I. And very quick and easy to make and so good.

This is definately a comfort food. I got this recipe about 18 years ago from a co-worker. There are two other ingredients that I use that makes it even more creamier is that I added cubed Velveeta (the small box) at the same time I add the cooked noodles along with a 1/2 cup of sour cream. Stir all the ingredients while in the baking dish and then topped it off with shredded cheddar and baked it. Served with a nice salad and dinner rolls on a cool evening and you will be very satisfied. Great to take to work the next day and just microwave it til' it is hot and enjoy again.

My boyfriend and I both liked this recipe. My picky eight year old however did not! I took the advice of another rater and did not cook the noodles first not sure if i will do that again since they were a little chewy. The flavor was yummy and I love the green pepper in it I think adding corn would be good.

This was a good recipe, even my picky eater ate it, but if I make it again I would have to add some seasoning to it. It seemed to lack something.

At first, I didnt' know how I would like this, but after tasting we thought it was super good.

I really like this recipe even though I did not use all of the ingredients because my cabinets were not stocked with what I needed.  Instead of tomato soup, I had to use a jar spaghetti sauce.  I used Velveeta because I did not have regular cheese.  I also seasoned with garlic powder, Adobo, salt, and pepper.  Next time I will make it with the ingredients that are listed.

This is great, especially the next day when all the flavors have blended. I actually didn't have any cream of mushroom soup on hand, so I used cream of chicken instead and it still turned out great. One I will definitely make again. The whole family loved it, especially my 2 year old.
