Ranch dressing mix flavors this easy dip packed with shredded cheese. It's perfect paired with pretzels. Be forewarned, though—it's hard to stop eating once you've started! <p>I've been making a version of this dip for a number of years and my family loves it.  Our version uses the liquid ranch dressing and we add chopped green onions.  One note I have discovered...the type of beer for some reason impacts how solid or creamy this dip ends up being.  Don't ask my why though!</p>

This is a great recipe. Have made many times and it never disappoints!

Make sure you use Ranch Dressing and seasoning packet. Like the recipe calls for. Do not use Ranch Dip seasoning packet.  That may be why some of you complained about it being too salty.  The Dip packet contains almost double the salt.

I made this Beer Dip today for a German-themed party on Saturday.  I used 1/2 cup beer, and I used sharp white cheddar cheese (I’m allergic to Annatto, the colorant used in many yellow cheeses).  The dip turned out great, very tasty, and I know my guests will love it!  Thank you for the recipe, Michelle!

This grew on my at first I thought it should be hot but it’s great cold. My husband liked it so much he said I’m not allowed to make it again lol because it’s dangerously good. We put it on our burgers! It was amazing. Good stuff! I’ll be making this agai!

A friend made this when 3 of us got together. We used celery, carrot sticks, green pepper 'sticks' - then got out all the crackers and pretzels we could find. Still had some left, so we warmed it a little and spread on black rye bread with ham.  You can't stop eating it once you start!!

Loved it. So easy to make and way better than I expected. I wouldn't change a thing.

I had this for the first time at a work holiday party and it was really good. I made mine today and it turned out great. I used 3/4 cup of beer in mine. Great with pretzels  and it is so easy to make!

This dip was a hit at my work Dipalooza today!  Easy and quick to make! Goes great with soft pretzel bites non salted.

Excellent!  Was great with both regular pretzels and soft pretzels.

Winner !  I made up just 1/2 of this recipe and had quite a bit left over. I used some of it tostuff a jalapeno pepper with. Hubby really enjoyed this lightened up version. The last little bitI used to stuff celery.  One recipe served 3 ways and everyone was wonderful.  Ranch dressing mix can be on the salty side so I would suggest seasoning as you go along. Super easy and quick to make. I recommend letting it chill for at least an hour. I made this a day ahead of time and served it with  mini pretzels. It's a perfect snack to serve when you're having friends over or to take to a party. I used a Pilsner in this recipe and it was perfect!

I followed recipe as it was presented and added: 7-oz. Genoa salami, chopped fine in food processor. I'd spread the dip on halved loaf of bread; covered and baked 15 minutes at 425o F., uncovered and baked 5 minutes. I'd broiled the dip/loaf 1 to 2 minutes. This dip is a 5* rating!

I made this years ago for a group of friends.  Perfect snack!  Both salty and creamy, a great combo.

This sounded so great that I couldn’t wait to try it. It was very easy to make as I had all of the ingredients on hand but that was where the positive ended. It had no flavor. I even put in extra beer. As they arrived, each guest was asked to try and rate the dip. Over 35 people and not one said, yes this is good. Most reactions were, what is it? Really, there’s beer in this?  It’s not bad but I don’t think I’ll go back for more. What a disappointment.

We love this and I've made it several times.  Heading out today to get the ingredients to make it again, and I'm thinking I'm going to add some canned, chopped jalepenos to it to give it a bit of zip!

Super easy, quick appetizer to make for any get together. Recommend using a light beer (not like a dark stout), and if you're looking to go for a more healthy route, you can use the low fat cream cheese (it still tastes good!).

I've made this for a few years now.  It is always asked for during football season. The kids love it as much as my hubby does.  The beer certainly affects the taste.  Use something you love to drink.

I used non-alcoholic beer and it did not alter the taste of this crowd pleasing dip. Just make it!!

I just made it for a bbq at work, seeing how I am a mechanic the guys loved it! I just nocked it down a star because lets just say I didn't find it gender neutral, as not many of the ladies liked it. But darn good if like beer. I used Samual Adams

My son makes this for us and we always enjoy it. Quite a Wisconsin dip - beer and cheese combined!
