Mix together 3/4 cup flour, un-dissolved yeast, the salt and sugar. In a saucepan, heat up the milk, water, and butter until warm, but not boiling.
Slowly pour the heated milk mixture to flour mixture. Beat with an electric mixture for 2 minutes at medium speed. Mix in 1/4 cup flour and beat for 2 more minutes on high. Stir in the remaining flour.
Knead on a lightly floured surface until flat, about 8 to 10 minutes. Cover then with plastic wrap and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Separate the dough into 12 equal balls. Place in a greased 8-inch round pan. Cover with a towel and allow to rise in a warm place until they double in size, about 30 minutes.
Bake in preheated 375 degrees F oven for 20 minutes or golden.
