Ingredients: 1 (750-mL.) bottle red wine; 1 c. orange juice; 1/2 c. brandy; 1/4 c. granulated sugar; 1 orange, sliced; 1 apple, sliced; 1 c. blueberries; 1 c. sliced strawberries; 1 (12-oz.) can seltzer

Everyone needs to know how to make red sangria. It's super refreshing, full of ALL the best fruit, and it's the perfect ratio of wine to brandy. We'll be drinking our not-to-sweet version all summer long.

Does it need more sugar if you use blackberry brandy?

I've been using this receipe with blackberry brandy and it's always a hit with family and friends. Excellent.  Great for bbqs.

Great basic Sangria! I like the selzer and I like that this recipe isn't overly sweet. I use a box wine like Franzia because if you are doctoring it up with sugar, there is no need for an expensive wine. Franzia and others make a Sangria box wine. It's nice to use a clear jug if you have one as this is so pretty on the table. Definitely make the day before and refrigerate overnight to let the fruit steep. I really do like to add some fresh lemon to the fruit.

Made this for a party too! Making 2 pitchers this time! I only used strawberries and blueberries though.
