Step 1

Place the first 6 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to the boil, then turn off.

Step 2

When the mixture is cool, add the flour and beaten eggs.

Step 3

Pour into a greased and lined springform cake tin and bake at 180C for 1½ hours or until cooked, and a nice rich colour.

Step 4

Turn out to cool on wire rack.
