Add eggs, one at a time and beat until fluffy. Add buttermilk and soaked bran mixture.In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt . Add flour mixture into the batter but do not over mix. Add in remaining 1 cup of cereal, dates and raisins. Pour batter evenly into 10 greased or paper-lined muffin tins.Bake 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool prior to serving.
