Begin by preheating your oven to 450 degrees.

Once done, beat together the eggs and then add in your sugar, milk, salt, heavy cream, and nutmeg. When it's all combined, take and pour into an unbaked 9-inch pie crust.

Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 325 degrees and place a cover over the outside crusts. You can use a metal pie crust shield for this.

After you've reduced the temp, bake the pie for another 30-40 minutes, until it's set. You'll know it's done as you start to notice the custard bubbling in the middle of the pie.

Once the time has passed, remove the pie from the oven and let cool. Once cooled you then want to place it in the fridge for a few hours or possibly even let it rest overnight.
