Step 1
In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the beef. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until onions are translucent and garlic is fragrant.

Stir in the chopped cabbage and sliced carrots, cooking for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Pour in the beef broth and water. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and bring to a boil.
Step 5
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30-40 minutes until the cabbage and carrots are tender.
