Step 1
Start by baking your cake as directed on the cake mix box and then immediately covering with plastic wrap or foil and placing it in the fridge to chill for minimum 4 hours, or overnight.
Step 2
Add chilled cake into a stand mixer and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add in 1-2 tbsp of frosting and allow the cake to mix for another 3-5 minutes. You should start to see a play dough consistency.
Step 3
Use a cookie scoop and roll cake into balls. Place on a baking sheet that's lined with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 4
Melt candy melts in the microwave in 30 second increments. Dip one end of the cake pop stick into the melted chocolate and then press into the center of each cake ball. Careful not to poke all the way through. Chill for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Then, dip and coat each cake pop in the melted chocolate and place down on the baking sheet or on a styrofoam sheet if you want them to be standing. Sprinkle immediately with sprinkles and enjoy once the chocolate has hardened completely.
