Step 1

Cream together shortening and sugars.

Step 2

Add eggs and vanilla, stir.

Step 3

Sift in flour, baking soda and salt and mix.

Step 4

Stir in chocolate chips.

Step 5

Spread 1/2 of the dough into a greased 9 X 13 pan.

Step 6

Whip the cream cheese until smooth.

Step 7

Add sugar and eggs and mix well.

Step 8

Pour over cookie dough in pan.

Step 9

Crumble remaining cookie dough on top of cream cheese.

Step 10

Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.

Step 11

Cool completely.

Step 12

Cut into bars and serve.
