Chocolate Truffles

chocolate chips

(14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

vanilla extract

Optional coatings: Chocolate sprinkles, Dutch-processed cocoa, espresso powder and cacao nibs

They just taste like chocolate chips.  Nothing special at all.  I had no trouble getting sprinkles to stick; nuts were more difficult, but I should have ground them more finely.  I guess it would make a good base (maybe use milk chocolate chips), with different extracts (almond, peppermint, etc).  But I’m in no hurry to try these again.

I made this as a Student Council representative for my school, and it was a best-seller! After 10 minutes, all the truffles were sold out, and a bunch of people were disappointed they never got a chance to taste them. And hehe it's actually my first time cooking by myself. Took me like 6 hours...But it's worth it. I became my school's hero for a few days :)

I made these last year, and will be making more tomorrow. They are fantastic. I did learn that if your truffles don't hold their shape, you can add a small amount of confectioner's sugar to stiffen them just a bit. Make them small, roll them quickly in the coatings and put them straight back in the fridge UNCOVERED. Once they dry a bit and get a "crust", they hold their shape well.

These are amazing! I made one batch with dark chocolate chips and almond flavoring rolled in chocolate sprinkles, another one with milk chocolate chips and vanilla rolled in cocoa. The possibilities are endless!

Easy and delicious, I sent them into my husbands work and they were gone in no time!

Couldn't be easier, with only 3 (2 main) ingredients! My kids enjoyed helping roll and top them and then eat them. I used cocoa powder, colored sugar sprinkles, and matcha drink powder.

These turned out to be the best truffles I've ever eaten!

I made these truffles for first time after making some candy jars with painted snowmen on them.  I changed the recipe a bit b/c I am not a fan of dark chocolate.  I used most milk chocolate and a little bit of semi-sweet.  They are delicious and I am planning on making more batches to fill jars but will be using ALL milk chocolate morsels!

A little labor intensive, but good.  I used one 11.5 ounce bag plus 1 cup of milk chocolate chips.  I refrigerated the mixture overnight.  It was a little hard to work with, but not impossible.  Rolling them in cocoa powder provided a nice contrast to the sweet center.

Made it for christmas as little gifts for our friends and family! It was a hit

When I made these, my kids told me they liked the “fudge” I made so that is a win. I did find they got hard if left out for a bit.

These were absolutey delicoious and everyone I gave them to for Christmas presents complimented me on them.  Even my picky fiance.  I will definately be saving this recipe for use every year...maybe even more often!

My daughter and I made these for Valentine and found them easy, we used different sprinkles and nuts. Think we will try to use different flavored extract's to change it up.

@ putterh..........are you sure you used "condensed" milk?  There is a big big difference between condensed milk and canned milk (even though they both come in a can).  It sounds like perhaps that was your mistake.  I made these last Christmas and they were so easy and delicious.  Plan on making a double batch this year for the holidays as I want to give some to friends and some neighbors.  Thank you for a great recipe.

These didn't turn out for me at all.  Even after hours in the fridge they wouldn't keep their round shape and kept going flat.  I had to throw away the whole batch.

These are good and easy, just not anything special.  I do love the topping ideas--for any kind of truffle.
