Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2
Combine the butter, white sugar and oil in a bowl and then stir in the vanilla extract and eggs until smooth.
Step 3
Now add the buttermilk gradually and the dry ingredients bit by bit, mixing and scraping down the bowl sides to get a smooth batter. Keep mixing until there are no lumps.
Step 4
Put ½ cup of the batter in a small bowl, mix in the cinnamon and molasses, and set aside.
Step 5
Grease a loaf pan with nonstick spray.
Step 6
Spoon half the main batter into the loaf pan and use a wide spatula to level it out.
Step 7
Add half the molasses batter on top.
Step 8
Add the rest of the main batter on top of that and finish with the rest of the molasses batter.
Step 9
Swirl the batters together using a butter knife and bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
Step 10
Let it cool for 10 minutes in the loaf pan and then loosen the edges and transfer it to a wire rack.
Step 11
To make the coating, put the melted butter in a dish and mix in the brown sugar, white sugar and ground cinnamon, stirring well.
Step 12
Dip the loaf into the coating, making sure all 6 sides are covered. You can also spoon it over the edges of the loaf and the top.
