Step 1

In a pitcher, stir together light and dark rum, passion fruit juice, orange, and lime juices, simple syrup, and grenadine.

Serve over crushed ice in hurricane glasses.

Garnish with orange slices and maraschino cherries, if desired. Serve immediately.

In a small saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil; simmer until the sugar is dissolved, 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool completely.

The syrup can be refrigerated in a glass jar for up to 1 month. If you need to store it longer, it can also be frozen.
