Step 1

Slice the French bread loaf lengthwise, ensuring it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Step 2

Layer your choice of filling (fried shrimp, oysters, catfish, soft-shell crab, or roast beef with gravy) generously onto the bottom half of the bread.

Step 3

Top the filling with shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, pickles, and a generous spread of mayonnaise. Add hot sauce to taste.

Step 4

Place the top half of the bread over the dressed filling. Cut into individual servings and enjoy immediately.
