Copycat Fritos Bean Dip Recipe

oz Refried Beans (or 1½ cup homemade ones)

Jalapeno slices (from jarred Jalapenos)

tsp Jalapeno juice (from jarred Jalapenos)

Sugar

¼ tsp Onion Powder

Paprika

Salt

Cayenne Pepper

Place all ingredients in a food processor.

Process together until smooth.

Transfer to air tight container and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Serve with your favorite Fritos and sides.

Tastes even better than the canned plus a nice little kick.

Whoo-hoo! Just tried this and it's very, very good as it is! I will try adding cheese next. Question: I see someone froze some in freezer bags. Does that work out well?

The only thing I did exactly like the recipe was to use onion powder, which is a must, and smells good; used paprika and cayenne pepper. I used jalapeños fresh from the garden, boiled until soft. I used Mrs. Dash garlic &amp; herbs in place of garlic salt for my low sodium diet. I put my jalapeños and spices in a small blender, adding one boiled, softened, and peeled tomato, sodium free taco seasoning, and Mrs. Dash southwest smoky seasoning. I added the blended mixture to 2 cans of beans, simmered and mashed. Lastly, I added a little bit of mustard, which is a popular addition to northern midwest chilli.  This also goes great in a medium to large serving casserole dish with layers of sour cream, green onion, black olives, guacamole and shredded cheese. If you get tired of chips, you can stuff warmed up tortillas.

This dip recipe has exceeded my expectations. Cheaper than what I pay for a container of it and WAY tastier as far as I am concerned.
My days of buying Fritos Bean Dip are over.
