Step 1

For the rim: place a good amount of sugar on a small plate, wet the rim of a lowball glass with lemon juice, then dip the rim into the sugar to coat

Fill the lowball glass with crushed ice, and set aside to cool

Step 3

Add the whiskey, cranberry juice, orange juice, lemon juice and simple syrup into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until chilled

Step 4

Pour the mixture into the prepared glass, and garnish with fresh cranberries and thyme before serving
