Add the dried cranberries, apple juice, cinnamon, and salt to a saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2

Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce it to a simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 3

Combine ⅓ cup of water with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in a separate cup or bowl to make the cornstarch slurry.

Step 4

Pour the cornstarch slurry into the cranberry sauce while stirring briskly.

Step 5

Stir in 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. orange zest and a teaspoon of lemon juice.

Step 6

Cook this for about 1-2 more minutes, then remove it from the heat.

Step 7

Allow it to cool then transfer it to a sealed container to store in the refrigerator. You can serve it warm if making the day of.
