How to Make Cream Cheese Frosting | Cream Cheese Frosting

In a large bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer. With the mixer on low speed, add the powdered sugar a cup at a time until smooth and creamy. Beat in the vanilla extract.

This is delicious with just one cup of icing sugar!

Doubled this four a 2 layer spice cake, perfect amount.  The flavor is great, I’ve used this recipe multiple times before, but since this cake is quite sweet, I opted to cut the sugar in half.  Good call on this one, but I’d suggest judging sugar by what you are pairing it.
