FIRST STEP:Peel and rinse the potatoes in cold water. At this time, you can remove the eyes also. If the potatoes are really large, they can be cut in half.

SECOND STEP:However, try to use roughly the same sized potatoes, so they do not need to be cut.

Cover with water and bring to a boil, while keeping a cover on most of the top of the pan.

THIRD STEP:When the potatoes can be pierced with a fork, drain well and transfer to a mixing bowl.

Attach the whisk attachment to the mixer, begin on low speed to break up the potatoes and slowly begin to add the milk, continue until you reach the consistency you prefer

FOURTH STEP:Add the softened butter 1 tbsp taking time to mix thoroughly in between each addition

When the butter is all added in, the potatoes will be fluffy.

FIFTH STEP:Add salt to taste, optional
