Crispy Oven Baked Tacos

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a bowl, mix together minced dry onion, salt, chili powder, cornstarch, cumin, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, minced garlic, and oregano; set aside.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat until hot but not smoking. Add hamburger and cut into small pieces while cooking. Cook and stir until the hamburger is completely browned 5-10 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Step 3

Pour seasoning mixture and water over the hamburger, stirring well. Simmer until the liquid absorbs into the meat, approximately 5 minutes.

Step 4

Arrange taco shells in the large baking dish. Place a scoop or two of the hamburger mixture into the bottom of each of the shells. Add a scoop of refried beans over the meat in each of the shells. Sprinkle the cheese over the refried beans in each of the shells.

Step 5

Place the tacos in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Step 6

Remove from the oven and top with pico de gallo.

Step 7

Serve immediately.
