Step 1
In a 6-quart slow cooker add Dr. pepper, BBQ sauce, onion powder, garlic, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Step 2
Place chicken in sauce and completely coat.
Step 3
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 2½-3½ hours.
Step 4
Shred chicken with two forks in the slow cookers and then mix into the sauce.
Step 5
Serve on your favorite buns and enjoy!
