Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Coat a fluted pan with nonstick cooking spray that contains flour.

Step 3

In a large bowl, add the cake mix, 1 can of the Mountain Dew, the eggs, and the vegetable oil, use an electric hand mixer beat on high speed, about 30 seconds.

Step 4

Increase the mixer's speed to medium and beat the batter mixture, about 2 minutes.

Step 5

Evenly pour the cake batter into the prepared fluted pan and bake until it is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 45 minutes.

Step 6

Transfer the cake to a wire rack and let it cool in the pan, about 10 minutes.

Step 7

Invert the cake onto the wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8

When the cake is completely cool, in a large bowl, add the confectioners' sugar and the remaining Mountain Dew and use an electric hand mixer to beat until it is smooth and there are no lumps.

Step 9

Place a piece of wax paper that is the size of the wire rack underneath the rack.

Step 10

Evenly pour the glaze over the cake, coating the top and the sides.

Step 11

Let the cake sit until the glaze has set.

Step 12

Slice and serve.
