I love this recipe, especially while babysitting younger kids (they love this) and during the hot summers (when it's unbearable to turn the oven on). It's quick, easy and clean.

Easy Brownie In A Mug

all-purpose flour

white sugar

cocoa powder

cinnamon

salt

water

canola oil

vanilla extract

Stir flour, sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and salt together in a microwave-safe mug. Stir water, oil, and vanilla extract into flour mixture with a fork until smooth.


I love it! I have tried this recipe many times and if you convert everything to tablespoons (1/4 cup= 4 tablespoons) it only uses three dishes(Mug,  Tablespoon, Whisk). Also, it doesn't mention it in the description, but if you use sugar that isn't white, this recipe is vegan! I have made this before and I will make it again. I rate FABULOUS out of ten!!! :D

5mins is too much time...i almost burnt my cake but luckily i turned it off when i smell choco :P overall it was alright!!!!

Looks good, just came out. Added a pinch of baking powder and it took 2 mins to cook. It has a cake like consistency. I used an extra large mug too. Pretty good!

These brownies were amazing. They were so chocolaty . you can also add chocolate chips to make these brownies sweeter.

This recipe is the best mug based recipe I've tried. While the result isn't like an oven baked brownie, it sure does the job in a pinch. That's great. Tastes good. I microwaved mine for 3 minutes.

Easy, quick chocolate fix.  Not as great as brownies out of the oven but the recipe has a place in the box.

Made it with almond milk instead of the water and it was more brownie like than a cake- it was perfect!

I've tried it and it was delish! my fave way to make brownies without the mess and hassle!

If you're a diehard chocolate junkie, and you can't wait to have a real brownie, then I guess this could be the hit you need for your fix.  It tastes a little weird, not rich and wonderful like a real brownie.  There is no leavening of any kind, like eggs, so  the texture is like anything else you try and "bake" in a microwave:  leathery and chewy.  I'll stick to real brownies.....

Really good.  Made 3, one for each of my brothers and then one for me.  Turned out really well.  I would definitely make it again, maybe add chocolate chips.

I love this recipe. It’s great when I need a quick chocolate fix and is super easy and fast. I added some chocolate chips because I wanted even more chocolate and it makes it a little less bitter. I wouldn’t microwave for more than 2 minutes because it starts to smell burnt. 70 seconds was perfect for me. A little gooey still but yummy!

i made it with gluten free flour and it didnt work ! Also was not sweet at all just tasted like flour

I made it and will try again. It looked awful but tasted pretty good. It looked to me like it separated. There were parts of it that looked like wallpaper glue and parts that were properly cakey, though very dry. I definitely will keep trying until I master this one.

This is Amazing, I always put to much coco so I put one tbsp and a half. But overall, it's amazing

This is a great recipe to build on.  I substituted chocolate almond milk for the water, half the amount of canola oil and added in peanut butter and maple syrup.  Topped with salted chocolate caramel sauce. Yum!

its great and my siblings love it! my dad likes not using the stove much so this works wonderfully. I added a bit more sugar on top so that its sweeter.

Turned out very well, very sweet but did not taste much like chocolate (maybe not enough coco powder) made it taste more like a sugar cake than a brownie but overall very good

Easy, fast, and pretty good! Not as sweet as I’d hoped but satisfied my craving.

Was jonesing for a quick brownie fix,  and this really hit the spot. Only adjustments I made were to cut the sugar to 2 Tbsp, add 1 Tbsp of monk fruit / erythritol blend, and 1 bitty scoop of stevia.2 min 40 sec  in my 700-watt microwave gave it the perfect gooey set.

I love microwave mug desserts, and this was just OK. It has too much flour and is really thick. Also, 1/4 cup sugar for 1 serving is a lot of sugar! I used 3 tablespoons, and it was plenty sweet. It cooked nicely in 90 seconds, no wet or dry spots. My favorite recipe is Individual Microwave Brownie on this site-- 2 T flour and 2 T sugar, much better for 1 serving.

I added a few chocolate chips and it, was a chocolate lovers dream

Horrible! I microwaved the batter for 1.5 minutes and it burned to a crisp. Now my house smells horribly of burnt sugar?

Easy recipe to follow but after  one minute and 40 seconds the batter looked like the Sahara Desert! I added 1 egg and 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder.  The brownie in a mug looked and smelt like a full size cake!

This recipe is ok. It was not really chocolate so I didn’t love it, my brother thought it was pretty good.

I used a sugar alternative and it was so yummy! And  with normal sugar  it is probably double yummy!! Love it ! Everyone 
should try it. Most are to bitter from the cocoa powder but this one was perfect!

I took out the cinnamon and (after cooking it) I sprinkled some cinnamon sugar on top. Tasted great. :)

This was really good. Microwaved it just 1 minute, came out nice and gooey.

This is too big for one person.  no one should consume a 1/4 cup of sugar in a sitting.Cut in half.Use melted butter instead of oil.Added an egg yolk.Add a TB of hot choc mix if you don't have choc chips.It's a decent quick choc cake fix.  not a brownie.
