Step 1

Bring cheese to room temperature by placing on counter 1 hour before you intend to serve. Select a board or flat platter on which you’ll place all of the elements for your charcuterie and cheese display. Prepare all of the various elements for the board before arranging: cut or slice meat, cube or slice cheese, open boxes of crackers, select condiments, and wash and prepare fruit. Begin by placing the cheeses on the board towards the centre, leaving room between for other elements. Place the selected meats in and amongst the cheese. Arrange in an attractive fashion, whether layering or creating small clusters. Place crackers down, by type, next to the cheese. Fill in open spaces with condiments, fresh fruit and pickled items. Add nuts and dried fruit. Serve immediately with favourite beverages such as cocktails, wine, beer and sparkling water.
