I decided to try this recipe and it was good but I like another recipe that I usually use that calls for buttermilk rather than sour cream better. I also think the raisins should be increased a bit. But still yummy either way!

I cannot believe how so many people changed the Irish Soda Bread recipe then it is not traditional,first of all Buttermilk is great no Sour Cream,reg raisins only 2 cups is good rest Ingredients good.I grew up in Ireland ate lots of Soda Bread love it.If you bake it at like 300 oven the inside will bake just watch it never knead it much because it will be too dry just like 10 times.I hope this helps  just saying from experience.

Look no more for an Irish Soda bread recipe as this is it!  Love the Caraway seeds.  In fact, I put just a tad more in, but omitted the raisins as daughter and I do not like cooked raisins.

Best Irish Soda bread I ever had.  Moist and soft not dry and hard.   First time I made it and it came out perfect.  When preparing the dough is sticky and tacky but thats normal.  You kind of have to squshi it a bit to flatten in the spring pan.   I added extra raisens because I love them and omitted the caraway seeds.  The familly LOVED it.  Definitely a keeper!

I had extra sour cream so this recipe fit my pantry for St Pat&#39;s day dinner. I did the knead thing and free formed it on parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Also slightly rounded the baking powder and soda. Omitted the caraway too. I live at ~ 6000 feet but found that 45 minutes did the trick. It was wonderful!  Best I&#39;ve ever made. Can&#39;t wait to make toast with it.

Went GREAT with the St. Patrick&#39;s Day meal I served.

This is the best tasting Irish Soda Bread I have ever had.  Usually the ones that I had bought in previous years were dry and hard.  I made it the day before yesterday for last nights corned beef and cabbage dinner.  Everyone raved about it. Will definitely make it again and not just for St. Patricks Day. Made it exactly as recipe states other than using caraway seeds since everyone can&#39;t have seeds.
