In a pot add butter and let it get melty. Then add in the lemon zest and salt & pepper.

Let that saute for about 3 minutes.

Next add in lemon juice and give that a stir.

Then pour in the heavy cream and more salt & pepper.

Bring the pot to a boil and once it comes to a boil lower it to a simmer. Simmer for 4-7 minutes or until it thickens up a bit.

Then add in the pecorino romano and chopped garlic.

Whisk that together until everything is incorporated.

Bring the pot back to a boil, lower it to a simmer, and let that simmer for 5-7 mins

Add in the frozen broccoli and bring the pot back to a boil.

Once it comes to a boil, lower it to a simmer, and let that simmer for about 3-5 minutes or until the broccoli is soft.

Boil the tortellini in salted water for 2 minutes.
Step 12
Once the tortellini is halfway cooked add it to the alfredo sauce letting a little bit of the pasta water drip in.
Step 13
Stir everything together and let the tortellini finish cooking in the sauce for 2-3 minutes.

Garnish with more grated pecorino romano and enjoy! The sauce will thicken as it stands.

Allow the dish to set up for 5 minutes before serving.
