Step 1
Set the mascarpone out and allow it to soften a bit before you begin.

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until they are well blended. Next, whisk in the milk and cook over medium heat, constantly stirring, until the mixture boils.

Boil gently for 1 minute, then remove the pan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Cover the pan with plastic film refrigerate for about an hour.
