Pecan pie is one of my favorites and these bars were easy to make and really delicious.  A keeper, for sure.

absolutely awesome!  Just make sure your 15x10 is deep enough that it doesn't boil over in the oven.  I also had to bake it about 15 min longer than instructed to get the center to set.

Maybe I did something wrong, but we didn’t love these. Sorry! Pecan pie is a favorite, but these were too sweet! The crust was too rich and soft, and the topping was like very sweet caramel. Didn’t taste like pecan pie, as I hoped!

These are Devine!  They taste like pecan pie only better and easier to make.  My family actually likes the crust better than regular pie crust.  They are very sweet but I have a sweet tooth and rarely encounter anything that I think is too sweet.

Perfect results just as written! The potluck crowd went for seconds and I saw several being tucked away in napkins to take home, always an indication of a winner! Solution to pan cleanup  problem: lightly spray pan, then line with parchment big enough to hang over on at least 2 sides. Spray the paper and proceed. When cooled, lift the uncut bars out of pan using the overhanging parchment for handles. The bars are easier to cut, and no sticky pan!

These were awesome and I'm not even a big pecan pie fan.  Added the mini chocolate chips too. I feel like that's a must

These are great! My husband loves pecan pie but I used this recipe with the shortbread crust and he went crazy over it! I did adjust the cook time by about 15 minutes to get a firm set and that seemed to work out well. I’ll definitely use this recipe again.

These are delicious!  Very good flavor....the crust is very buttery and goes so well with the pecan filling.  The only downfall is that it is very very sweet.  My husband said they were too rich for him.  Next time I make them, I will cut the sugar in half.  Otherwise, I like them better than a pecan pie!

What a great recipe!  I had to give some away just to keep from snacking on them and wonder if they can be frozen.

Very yummy.  Tastes just like pecan pie.  Also very easy to make.  I think the only thing I would change is to have a little bit thicker crust.  Even in spite of that , this is a keeper.

My problem was that I used the right size pan. Lost half of topping in the oven while baking! Omg how do I get baked Karo syrup cleaned up????? Otherwise it is tasty what is left.

Made this for Thanksgiving this year. I used half light corn syrup and half 100% maple syrup.  They were a HUGE hit.  They earned a spot on the menu for every Thanksgiving from here on out.

I made these yesterday for Thanksgiving.  The taste is nice but my filling was WAY to watery, ran off the crust.  IF I make these again I might reduce the eggs to 2 and use less Karo syrup & sugar.  Anyone else have this trouble ?  Overall pretty disappointed.

These are delicious. They are not as sweet and gooey as traditional pecan pie. It also worked well for me as I struggle with rolling pie crusts. I baked it on the large Pampered Chef bar pan. We will definitely make this again.Taste of Home Volunteer Field Editor

Wow!  This was great!  If you have trouble getting it to set up... cool-then put the pan in the frig.  Then I was able to cut into bars to put on server.  I will most definitely make this again!

I made these for Thanksgiving instead of making a pecan pie and they were yummy.  Everyone kept going back for more.  By the end of the evening there were only a couple left.  Will definitely make these again.

Excellent recipe! Everyone loved them! Followed recipe exactly as written, except I unintentionally used 4 Tbsp butter in the filling. I cooked it for 33 minutes in a convection oven. Edges were slightly crunchy when cooled but I love that!

Just like pecan pie, but with more servings:)

I made these and took them to the field while the guys were working. Everyone loved them, and commented about how good they were. The crust is buttery, and the filling is sweet and gooey. Be sure the grease the sides of the pan well, as the filling can be hard to clean off.

these are the best ever......not just my opinion, but also my guests!!!!

I've been making these bars ever since the recipe was first published in Taste of Home in 1993. My family loves them!
