I received this recipe from a cousin-in-law at a family reunion. Since then, I've brought it to many gatherings myself. We also like to eat it as a dessert.&mdash;Kelli Giffen, Barrie, Ontario

Fluffy Green Grape Salad

(8 ounces each) crushed pineapple, undrained

(3.4 ounces) instant pistachio pudding mix

carton (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed

green grapes

I made this for my meals-on-wheels folks -- omitted the grapes and subbed 2 cups of mini-marshmallows along with 2 cups of diced up firm banana.  Also used 20 oz can of crushed pineapple undrained -- did not rate higher because I did not make as written.  Be creative -- Very good and refreshing!

Very creamy and refreshing.  Excellent choice for those hot summer days....everyone in the family enjoyed this salad.

This salad is known as Watergate salad in some places because it first appeared about the same time as the "scandal".  A family favorite and very good way to satisfy your kids' sweet tooth cravings!
