Step 1
Heat ½ tablespoon of butter in a griddle over medium-low heat. Add milk, cornstarch, half the cinnamon (½ teaspoon), and vanilla to a shallow bowl, and whisk well. You will add the rest of the cinnamon in for the second batch.
Step 2
Coat each side of a slice of bread (4 slices) into the milk mixture, and set on the griddle. Cook for 7-8 minutes on one side, flip, then cook for an additional 5-6 minutes on the other side. Repeat with the remaining bread slices.
Step 3
Serve hot with butter and warm maple syrup. Or, top the fresh berries.
