Step 1
Cut the mozzarella into 4 equal slices (approximately 1/2-inch thick).
Step 2
Beat the eggs with a little salt and pepper.
Step 3
Add prosciutto slices and basil leaves on top of 2 of the mozzarella pieces. Top with a little tomato sauce. Cover with the other mozzarella slices, forming a sandwich.
Step 4
Dip in flour (shaking off the excess), then in egg, and finally in breadcrumbs. Repeat this step until well-coated.
Step 5
Fry in oil until browned. Serve topped with more tomato sauce.
