Step 1
Preheat oven to 150C.
Step 2
Place vanilla wafers between 2 layers of greaseproof paper. Crush wafers with a rolling pin to make about 1½ cups of crumbs.
Step 3
Combine crumbs, cocoa, sugar, and melted butter in a medium bowl and mix well.
Step 4
Press onto the bottom of a 22 cm springform pan. Bake crust for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and put aside.
Step 5
Place softened cream cheese in a large bowl. Beat with electric mixer set at high speed until light and fluffy.
Step 6
Gradually add condensed milk to the cream cheese, beating well after each addition.
Step 7
Add melted chocolate, eggs and vanilla extract and beat well. Spoon mixture over the baked crust base.
Step 8
Bake cheesecake for about 1 hour or until set.
Step 9
Cool to room temperature and then chill for at least 4 hours.
Step 10
Serve with fresh whipped cream and strawberries.
