Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F and prepare a 6x6 inch pan with parchment paper both ways and leave an overhang for easy removal.

Step 2

First, prepare the flax egg by stirring together flax meal and water and letting sit for 10 minutes.

Step 3

Next, in a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate and peanut butter together. Stir in the maple syrup, coconut oil and vanilla and stir until smooth.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the almond flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking soda. Add in the chocolate mixture and flax egg and stir until a thick batter forms. Transfer batter to the prepared pan.

Step 5

Next, drop dollops of peanut butter over the batter and use a knife to swirl them together. Top with Oreo pieces and bake for 14-16 minutes. Do not over bake. The brownies will still be soft when you take them out of the oven but that's okay. Let cool completely at room temperature then chill for 1 hour before cutting into squares and serving. ENJOY!
