Step 1
Use your cutting machine or X-ACTO knife, along with my template, to cut out all of the pieces for your gingerbread house treat box.Note: If you are using the SVG files that includes the score lines, don’t forget to set them as such in Cricut Design Space and attach them to their shapes before sending them through your cutting machine. I used a lime green color to mark the score lines, so hopefully that helps! If you’re having trouble with the score lines, check out this video. I also used a Cricut marker to draw the designs on the birdhouse walls, but if that’s not an option for you, then you can delete those lines before cutting the design.
Step 2
Layer each of your decorative pieces together. Start with the gumdrop borders, the doorway, columns, and windows. Then, layer some snow on the bottom edge of the roof pieces and some more snow on the top edge of the wall pieces. Attach the decorative elements you assembled previously to the walls as well. Then, match each wall/roof piece with the corresponding section on the main, brown box pieces and attach.
Step 3
Fold your box pieces along the score lines.Attach the two box pieces together using the tabs at both ends. Then, assemble the bottom of the box by folding the long rectangular flap in first, the two smaller flaps in second, and then slipping the tab on the long, angled flap into the opening at the center.Tie some ribbon or twine through the two holes at the top of the roof to close your box. Add any other decorative elements that you’d like, and your gingerbread house is complete!
