Dumplings: Rub butter into flour.
Step 2
Add milk and golden syrup, then stir until just combined.
Step 3
Roll mixture into balls.
Step 4
Sauce: Heat all sauce ingredients in a saucepan until sugar has dissolved.
Step 5
Bring to the boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
Step 6
Drop dumplings into simmering sauce, cover and cook for 25 minutes.
Step 7
Dumplings should be puffed and golden when cooked.
