Export 5 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Add the gelatin to cool water in a small bowl, stir, and allow to rest (or “bloom”) for about 5 minutes
Step 2
Mix corn syrup, sugar, and sorbitol to a medium saucepan, and bring to a simmer over low heat
Step 3
Add the gelatin mixture and stir until everything is combined
Step 4
Take the pan off the heat, and mix in the citric acid
Step 5
Allow the mixture to cool and rest for about 5 minutes. White foam will rise to the top—skim it off. Let sit for another 5, and then skim off any additional foam. (Doing this in two steps ensures that the mixture is as clear as possible)
Step 6
Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the liquid into a bowl
Step 7
The amount is highly dependent on the kind of flavoring you’re using. For highly concentrated flavors, like LorAnn oils, don’t use more than 1/2 teaspoon. When adding food coloring, start with a very small amount, and add more bit by bit until you’ve reached the color you want
Step 8
Very lightly oil the gummy bear mold using just a few drops of a neutral-tasting oil like grape or canola and a paper towel.
Step 9
Fill the molds to the top with the dropper
Step 10
Chill in the fridge overnight, or up to 24 hours, before gently unmolding. (At a minimum - 6hrs)
