Step 2
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 5
Whether using either canned or pre-cooked chickpeas dry them off completely before coating with the wasabi seasoning mix. I use a clean cotton towel and gently roll them between two layers of the towel. Set aside.
Step 10
Make a paste out of 1 teaspoon of the wasabi powder and 1 teaspoon of the soy sauce.
Step 13
Whisk the olive oil into the paste.
Step 18
Pour wasabi mix over the chickpeas and mix until all beans are coated.
Step 23
Transfer the coated chickpeas to an unlined cookie sheet and place in the center of the oven for 15 minutes.
Step 28
After 15 minutes, shake the cookie sheet to turn the chickpeas. Continue cooking for another 15 - 20 minutes. When the chickpeas are done, they will "clink" against the cookie sheet and be about half their original size.
Step 33
Turn off the oven, shake the remaining wasabi and soy sauce over the chickpeas and mix thoroughly.
Step 36
Place the chickpeas back into the open oven and allow them to sit in the hot oven for 10 more minutes.
Step 39
Take the chickpeas out and enjoy! These are best eaten immediately out of the oven.
