Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. While oven is preheating, grease 9 x 13 inch baking dish with vegetable oil and spread half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom of the dish. Evenly overlap the potatoes as necessary and then layer them with half of the chopped onions.
Step 2
In a small bowl mix together flour, butter, salt and black pepper. Lather half of this mixture on top of the first layer of potatoes, and then immediately add half of the Cheddar cheese on top.
Step 3
Repeat sequence to create second layer of potatoes and cheese and lastly add milk on top. Place baking dish into preheated oven and cook for 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are nice and tender and cheese is golden brown.
Step 4
Take out of the oven when done and let cool for 5 minutes before serving and enjoying.
